Mission
Innovation and Impact Through Comprehensive Engagement
OEE drives proactive institutional economic engagement at the local, regional, national and global levels by working with internal and external partners to maximize Lehigh’s impact on the world.
Services
The Center for Career and Professional Development
The Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD) assists undergraduate & graduate students in making connections between their academic experience and career paths. Through career-related counseling, resources, and programming CCPD helps individuals establish life-long career management skills. A critical part of this career process is the continued growth of CCPD’s external partnerships with alumni, employers, graduate & professional schools, and community partners which create experiential learning opportunities and contribute to the development of a highly-skilled workforce and the global economy.
External Engagement
The External Engagement (EE) team works to track, coordinate, and add value to Lehigh’s engagements outside the institution, cultivating relationships that affect Lehigh’s ability to positively impact the local, regional, national and global economy. The EE team has specific expertise in developing economic partnerships that drive community engagement, infrastructure investment, and regional capacity building while enhancing Lehigh’s brand and role as institutional anchor.
Strategy and Analytics
The strategy and analytics team provides deep insight for a range of internal and external institutional activities. The team serves as a key source of both external partner business intelligence and as a knowledge repository of Lehigh strengths. Using this data, the strategy and analytics team identifies downstream funding availability at the local, regional and national level, researches the market size and relevant trends with the goal of providing analysis and recommendations for the opportunities that best align to drive Lehigh's success.
Nonprofit Engagement
The nonprofit engagement team collaborates with university leadership, faculty, and staff to help build connections between Lehigh and a broad range of nonprofit partners in support of pioneering research, innovative curriculum, strong local and global community, and other strategic priorities. The team is expert in information gathering, data analysis, and effective communications, including proposal and report writing.
Industry Engagement
The Industry Engagement (IE) team focuses on building comprehensive strategic relationships for Lehigh by engaging corporations through opportunities that advance education, research, and innovation. The IE team works closely with faculty, students and corporate partners to create an innovation ecosystem focused on "big picture" ideas that have the potential to make a significant impact on the university and our global community.
Incredible Campus Partners
- OSIsoft has partnered with Lehigh for over ten years, however our relationship has become much more strategic and has significantly increased in value due to the Office of Economic Engagement. In addition to our support for teaching and learning, OEE has provided avenues for engagement through research activity and talent recruitment and development, as well as opportunities to leverage our PI System infrastructure to create a smart campus environment. I look forward to continuing to deepen our partnership with Lehigh and the Office of Economic Engagement.
- The collaboration between OEE and the Office of International Affairs is one I look forward to growing. Our joint efforts to explore partnerships and create innovative teaching, research and service programs will help shape Lehigh's future. The combined expertise of both departments allows us to leverage our resources as we expand Lehigh's footprint at home and abroad.
- The Office of Economic Engagement is a fantastic campus resource and partner. OEE spurs campus creativity by connecting clubs and students with internal and external partners and valuable networking opportunities. In support of LehighHacks, Lehigh's first Hackathon, OEE was a prime resource in orchestrating several key industry partnerships. LehighHacks would not have been possible without the support of OEE!
- OEE has done an impressive job of assessing and connecting us to relevant partners. The OEE team is effective, timely, and professional and plays a key role in enabling faculty to kick-start and grow successful research programs.
